As we begin a new year, we take joy in releasing a long-awaited update on our harvest in Poughkeepsie, NY— one of our local home churches in the making! Exactly a year in the works, our journey has been full battles and victories. Yet God has remained faithful in our relentless effort to establish a church in the “Queen City of the Hudson.”
Since August 2025, the church has been placed under the leadership of one of our beloved church-planting leaders, Brother Juan Jose Magaña, and his wife, Noheli Magaña (pictured below). They have since established the church in the home of a wonderful family that enthusiastically opened their doors to share the Gospel with their surrounding neighbors, friends, and family. We have been pleasantly surprised by the increasing number of young boys and girls who are thirsty for the Gospel, many of whom have surrendered their hearts to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We praise God, as stated in Acts 2:47: “Praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
Brother Juan Jose and his family share their sincere excitement to continue their labor in Poughkeepsie as they witness God moving in the hearts of the people. With a multicultural group of individuals, the task ahead is complex and requires much attention and love. We thank God for enabling us to do so!
We ask that you continue in prayer for the hard work ahead. Please intercede for the lost and broken souls in Poughkeepsie, NY, who are in desperate need of our Savior. Finally, lift up the Magaña family in prayer as they put their hands to the plow.
